What movie would you really recommend renting or seeing this weekend?
Himmel über Berlin, Der (1987) (Wings of Desire)
the most beautiful film I've ever seen...
the film is great to affirm how beautiful life is and how amazing it is to be human...
everything about it is beautiful...
the pacing is deliberately slow to help slow down the mind to become more tranquil
the actors are amazing, including the angels Bruno Ganz and Otto Sander who envy everything that is human... and the most beautiful trapeze artist Solveig Dommartin who Is hard not to fall in love with...
the Americans (not me), for some reason, had to remake this film and ended up with the film City of Angles... which i do not recommend... first off they turned the whole movie into a love story between
Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage...
the original was to show how beautiful life is... it was not to show a cheesy love story.. i hated it because Nicolas Cage seemed like he was stalking Meg Ryan... he was so creepy...
plus the poetry of film was absent... the dialog was not as lyrical as was in Wings of Desire...
lastly Meg Ryan is no Solveig Dommartin... Meg Ryan is spunky, at the most, but not beautiful... if i was an angel Meg Ryan would not be the person to move me enough to want to become a human...
so.. please please watch this film...
I've seen it about 5 times and i cry every time

on another blog site i asked everyone to tell me their top ten books and their top ten movies...
for six months I'm collecting info and in the end I will present a list of the top 100 books and movies...
i kind of want to do that here but it would be hard on Vox because it's hard to reach a lot of people without going to everyone's personal blog to tell them about it..
that would be annoying for me and the people i hit up...
but just for fun...
anyone who reads this...
tell me what you like to read and watch...
i know personal favorites change as much as trends do...
so think of it this way...
name 10 books and 10 movies that have changed your life...
like for me... To Kill a Mockingbird was the first book that changed my attitude toward reading... after that book i craved to read all the time...
and Wings of Desire changed the way i looked at life...
if enough people share with me then i'll start a six month collection like I'm doing at the other site...
but until then, i think it would be interesting to see what everyone here reads and watches and maybe why they moved you/changed you (you don't have to tell me why... you can just share your list... but it would be cool to know the whys)
ok...

what Kiwi is listening to right now
Share Your Love With Me
It's an ill wind that blows no good,
and it's a sad heart that won't love like it should
Oh, how lonesome you must be,
and it's a shame if you don't share your love with me
It's a heartache when love is gone,
but it's bad and even sad later on
There's no one blinder than he who won't see,
and it's a shame if you don't share you love with me
I can't help it if she is gone,
you must try to forget you must live on
It's a good thing to love someone,
but it's bad and even sad when it's not returned
Oh how lonesome you must be,
and it's a shame if you don't share your love with me
And I said it's a shame if you don't share your love with me
Oh yeah
